We have gone through the storyboard with our teachers and we have come to a conclusion that it is not up to scratch so we will redo the storyboard and put it up as soon as possible...

DIGIPAK PLAN

There will be four pages for the digipak, the front, the back, the lyrics page and the back of the CD. There will be a theme that will hold for all the pages, which is the top and bottom border, we decided to do this because it makes it look more professional and look solitary. The basic colour theme is black, white and red but there may also be other colours included; we chose this theme because it gives quite a dark and ‘gangster’ feel, rather than an amusing and happy look. The font is not yet as I will experiment with different fonts to get the right one to suit the cover and suit the genre, the sketch is just a random font.

The front cover will have a high class, expensive car with the rappers standing in front of it and the other member of the group at the back, this is because the rappers are the main people, so we can show that they are the most important as clearly as possible. We chose to include a high class car because it portrays that we have money and this is a big thing in the hip-hop genre so we will be following the conventions. The clothing the people will be wearing is t-shirt and baggy jeans because of the stereotype clothing for the hip-hop genre. The characters’ postures will be relaxed, as the ‘we don’t care look’ much like the album covers I analysed. The front cover will also include the name of the song, the name of the group, the logo (which is already made by me, CMB the initials of the group) and a label saying ‘PARENTAL ADVISORY EXPLICIT LYRICS’ because this is included onto every hip-hop album cover so including this would be following the conventions.

The back will be the back of the car and people, so it looks like the audience is looking from the back, this has not got anything to do with the genre, but we just thought that it would look very interesting if we did this.

The lyrics page will be include the main theme of the top and bottom border, with the lyrics in two columns, the colour of the writing will be white because it will stand out in front of the black and red background. We chose to put lyrics in the digipak because it adds a bit of excitement as it lets the audience to sing-a-long. The cover behind the CD will be just the top and bottom border as the CD will be covering so adding a lot of detail would be pointless.

I will experiment with many effects while I am producing the digipak so I can come up with the best looking digipak.

Casting Notes

Our Music Video Is called 4 My Town, it is basically going to be a remake of the original music video created by Birdman featuring Lil wayne and Drake.

There are three main artists in the original music video, but as there are only three in our group I (Shazaib Hussain) have offered to film most of the video while Mark Hornsey and Carlvin Kihura will be performing in most of the music video, but sometimes they will also take turns in filming so I can appear in the music video.

The following people will be in the music video:

Carlvin Kihura

Mark Hornsey

Shazaib Hussain

Ali Hussain

Waqqas Akhtar

Abdul Sesay

Jacob Oakley

Andrew Edwards

Aidan Barefoot

Almost all hip-hop music videos include a lot of people posing in the video so we have informed all of the people above (excluding Mark and Carlvin) that they will be appearing but will not be saying or doing anything just posing for a few shots.

There will be a range of different shots where there will be the extras by themselves and with the main rappers, These shots may be shown more than once and be at different parts of the song.

All the people in the music video have been informed that clothing is to be of stylish wear, any colours are allowed except pink as we feel this would affect the stereotype and theme of the music video. The guys have been told that they need to wear tight t shirts and baggy jeans and being topless may be necessary for some close-ups. Also we have informed that wearing any accessories such as sun glasses, jewellery and anything else that reflects the hip-hop stereotype so we can successfully portray the hip-hop theme.
